When opting for an Electric Hob (Cooktop), the choices in UAE are a Ceramic or an Induction Cooktop.
Induction is always considered superior to a Ceramic for the following reasons:

Ceramic hobs are not energy efficient.
Ceramic hobs work on the principal of heating the coil underneath the ceramic glass that glows red when heated.  This heated coil heats up the utensil and also the surrounding areas - which is wasted energy.

An induction hob works on the principal of electromagnetic induction.  This means it heats up a utensil by inducing heat magnetically.  Energy is thus focused on the pan and not wasted to the surrounding area.

Ceramic hobs are slow in heating up and cooling down.

Ceramic hobs take some time to heat up and a longer time to cool down.
This is a disadvantage when cooking especially when you want rapid change in temperature.  For example, after cooking rice on high heat you would want to turn the heat down rapidly for simmering.  A Ceramic hob would take 2-3 minutes to cool down and will transfer high heat to the pan during this time.

An Induction hob instantly responds when temperature is increased or decreased.
It takes as little as 20 seconds to boil a glass of water on an induction hob, whereas it would take 4-5 minutes to do the same on a ceramic hob.
Similarly, it instantly shuts or slows down and the cooling down of the pan depends on the room temperature.  There is no heat being transmitted to the pan from the cooktop during this time - unlike a ceramic hob.

Disadvantage of an Induction Hob
The cooktop works on principal of electromagnetic induction.  This means you need pans which have a base made of magnetic (made of steel) material.
However, if you do not have steel pans, you can always purchase a cooking magnetic plate designed for cooking on induction cooktops (available on Amazon.ae for as little as AED60).  Simply place your non-magnetic pan on top of the induction plate and cook as normal.

ABOUT THIS MODEL

MORE CONTROL OVER YOUR COOKING: With 9 levels of power settings get more consistent control over cooking temperature.

This better temperature control delivers consistent results, reducing the risk of over or under cooking.

Consistent heat delivers tasty and repeatable results every time.

Pan Sensor technology places heat right where you need it. By automatically adjusting to the size of your cookware, no energy is wasted in the process.

SAFER WAY OF COOKING: Since induction heats your cookware directly, as opposed to the cooktop surface, the surface won’t get hot until the right cookware is placed in the cooking zone. It also cools down much more quickly than traditional gas or electric cooktops.

MODERN AND ELEGANT DESIGN: Touch Slider Controls embedded in the elegant Crystalline glass with a chic golden metal border.
